11s Development Program
About
Each year, Illawarra District Netball Association (IDNA) runs an 11 years Development Program to begin the identification of players for future representative teams, and to enhance the skills of these players.
The program focuses on Core and Tactical Skills including throwing, catching, physical movements,
decision making and court awareness. Additional work on attack and defence including shooting and circle
defence will also be included to improve a player’s versatility.
The 11’s Development program:
• Is aimed at players who have turned or are turning 11 years of age in the year of play.
• Carries 30 Players with 3 Coaches to support the Squad.
• Will train weekly between March to June and will cease at the completion of the last carnival.
• Will participate in 4-5 Carnivals between March to July as determined by the IDNA
The 11’s Development is considered part of the Junior Development Program and is by no means the only
stepping stone to representing IDNA in the future, it is simply the first opportunity for players to gain exposure to representative netball. The 12 years selections will be open to all players, not just those from the 11 years program.

To be eligible for nomination, players must be a registered and financial member of IDNA in the current year, including registration in the current Winter Outdoor competition.
